Today's CDs 4-22
Right now I'm using the Auto DJ function on Music Match Jukebox to listen to the 25 CDs I've thus far purchased in 2003. What are you listening to?
This week's question: Which media player do you use?

Non stop Shine by Daniel Lanois. So far, this is the best album of the year, and it's going to be very difficult to top it. The only reason why it won't make many top 10 lists at the end of the year is because of the relative obscurity of the artist. (Although I'd say everybody has heard his production work at some point or another.)

Hem - Rabbit Song
Joe Jackson - Summer in the City
Diana Krall - Only Trust Your Heart
Bebel Gilberto - Tanto Tempo
QOTW: If necessary (which is rarely) I use Windows MediaPlayer because that's the only one set up here at work. I also occasionally use LAUNCHcast when I'm in the mood for randomly generated music.

I haven't pulled out any cds, but I've been listening to Astrud Gilberto mp3s. I also listened to some Grandaddy tracks (all off of the Sophtware Slump) while I finished a paper.

My media player that I use is MusicMatch. I've got a free subscription, soon to end, of the MusicMatch Mx Platinum. I'm not sure if I'll get the Platinum, but I'm pretty sure I'll play for the MusicMatch Mx. I love being able to type and artist, say "Tom Waits" and play him along with a group of related artists.
I think they do a good job of picking related artists. It'll let me skip if I don't like the particular song. Very nice.

Have to put in a plug for Daniel Lanois' new album. You're missing out if you haven't listened to it!

To access this browse-based player, go to:
http://www.musicmatch.com/mx/
BTW, on the skip feature, if you get the Platinum service, you get unlimited skips for the Artist on Demand station, whereas there is an RIAA imposed limits on certain number of skips per hour for the other Artist Match services.
