Omaha f'ing NE
What the heck is in the water in Omaha these days? A hip scene in Omaha? WTF?
I just finished listening to Bright Eyes' newish one and the new Cursive, two Omaha based bands. Fantastic stuff, people. |
I live 300 east of Omaha and have never heard of those bands. Actually I have never heard anyone use the term "hip scene" either.

The new Cursive is incredibly bad.

The last two cursive albums have been lame. Saddle Creek, or whatever the label is, has just done a good job acting like it has a good music scene. There are decent bands in many cities. I don't care about the hype a city gets, I care about how the music is that a band puts out.
Don't worry about Omaha, or as the kids call it, Emoha. |
Don't forget about The Faint - IMHO, Saddle Creek's (and Omaha's) best band at the moment.
Danse Macabre is magnificent. And if you like them, they're on a national tour in about a week! |
I really like the new cursive album.
