weird show at nassau last night... no binaural at all, but... the show was absolutely amazing until the friggin' crowd turned on the band after bushleaguer... *sigh*...

check out the red mosquito boards if you want to know more.. i really don't wanna go into it, as i'm still pretty pissed off about the whole thing...
Taken from the show description on www.theskyiscrape.com:

"- During Bushleager, Ed puts the Bush mask on the mic stand and feeds it some wine. This results in some mixed reactions from the crowd including some U-S-A chants. Ed goes off on a little tirade about his right to free speech, resulting in more mixed reactions. Pearl Jam goes on to play Know Your Rights and RitFW, after which Ed has a few more words and then slams his mic stand to the floor and walks off the stage, visibly annoyed with the crowd. "

So does only Eddie have the right to free speech? Wouldn't the U-S-A chant be covered by the same amendment?

This is really annoying. Maybe if he (Eddie) actually spoke to the crowd & gave some reasons for being anti-Bush, it might actually have an impact. Or, better yet, what about somethings that people can do about this? How about some volunteer organizations that people could work with to try to combat some of the bad things ("bad" according to Eddie - I'm not getting into a political debate here) that President Bush is doing? Or have the concerts set up to donate proceeds to the Nader for President fund?

With his methods of expression, he's not doing any good. People who already dislike Pres. Bush will still dislike him. People who like Pres. Bush will still like him. And people who are open-minded and willing to listen to good arguments are not finding anything at all.

Just got back from the Buffalo show... best show I have ever seen/heard!!!!! No exageration. They played for just under three hours, and ended up playing 4 sets!!

I've seen them a bunch of times, and I've never seen them sustain so much energy all the way through the show.

I feel bad for people that have never seen Pearl Jam live.

Yeah you and borisdisco got a treat.
Awesome setlist!!!!

So Pearl Jam announced no more Bushleaguer live. They said they didn't want to alienate their fans.

I just got home. Whew, what a show. They also had the Live at The Showbox DVD for sale for $20. I picked one up but I haven't watched it yet. Buffalo was the first show that they sold them at.

After seeing that setlist all I can wonder is how they could possibly top that with the final show of the next leg of the tour?

Just got done listening to the State College show, great show!
Can't wait for the next leg!

Disappointed I only caught Albany this leg (which was in my opinion the worst of this leg).
It had it's strong points and was a great show, but when you add up everything from the other shows they outshine it.

Click on audio, and there it is

On a different Pearl Jam note, it is confirmed that the DVD of the Showbox show in Seattle that has recently been sold at a few concerts (and will eventually be made available through the tenclub) is ANAMORPHIC WS! and of course much better quality than the TB2K DVD!

Not only that, but rumors have it that at least 4 more shows from the tour (next one being Yo... (sp?) from Japan) will be released on DVD as well!!

I have it, and it played full screen. Could it be settings on my DVD player? It did look like the sides were cutoff at times. I just figured it was full screen when I watched it.

Hopefully so, that setlist for the Seattle show wasn't all that impressive, compared to some others I saw listed. Either way, I'll pick it up, and cool to finally have some full shows released.

Taken from the Pearl Jam offical site:

Beginning Wednesday, May 7th on http://www.tenclub.net, you'll be able to order the Showbox DVD for only $15.00. The DVD includes Pearl Jam's set from beginning to end and is brought to you by the same people who did Touring Band 2000. The Showbox DVD will also be available at the shows again for $20 during the next leg of the tour that begins on May 28th. The set list is as follows:
The Showbox, Seattle, Washington warm-up show, December 6, 2002
Set list: Small Town, Off He Goes, Thumbing My Way, Thin Air, Breakerfall, Green Disease, Corduroy, Save You, Ghost, Cropduster, I Am Mine, Love Boat Captain, Gods' Dice, 1/2 Full, Daughter/(War by Edwin Starr), You Are, Rearviewmirror;
1st encore: Bu$hleaguer, Insignificance, Better Man, Do The Evolution, Yellow Ledbetter;
2nd encore: Soon Forget, Don't Believe in Christmas by The Sonics

For a rundown of the show, check the Fanviews from the people who were there.

Please note: The DVD is not region coded, but if you are in Europe, for example, you still must have a DVD player that will convert the signal to PAL for your player.

The DVD features 10 songs from their newest CD "Riot Act." I think this show was a sort of coming out party for the new record. I liked the DVD, and yes it is wide screen. My power was out for a couple of days and it must have put my DVD player settings back to pan and scan.

FWIW, the Showbox DVD is supposedly just the first in a series of shows to be released. The scuttlebutt says the next DVD to be released will be of a Japan show.

Hard to beat for $15 in any case.

Just finished listening to the PSU show, JAWDROPPING to say the least. If you're planning on picking up a bootleg from this leg of the tour, this is definitely the one to get.

It's going to be a 3 CD set as well, the THIRD encore lasted 40 minutes on it's own.

Just picked up 6th row tickets to the Hershey show.
Not sure if I'm going to make it yet, just couldn't pass up these seats. The boxoffice was holding a lot of the good seats, so you had to call them (not ticketmaster).

But I'm going to try to get Boston tickets this Friday morning.
Whichever show I can get better seats to is the show I'll go to.
Not both, because it's too long of a drive between the two (back to back nights).
