I was watching a little MTV2 last week and they played a video by this young Norwegian that really impressed me. I guess in a sea of banality a song like this will stick out. I was intrigued that his music is on Astralwerks... then read he's a huge fan of Prefab Sprout (a band I really like).
Anyone heard his whole album? It seemed to fit into that David Gray or Beth Orton style... but those artists don't knock my socks off. At the least, this kid really must know his music.

The album is very good. He writes good songs, and he has good influences. When I first heard the album, it thought he sounded like a younger and hipper Rufus Wainwright, but not as piano-driven. He also reminded me of Joseph Arthur, but not as chamber-like. I'd say that he would fit around the style of David Gray or Beth Orton, but much more upbeat than they usually are.
I'm not sure what song you may have heard on MTV2, but the album as a whole is well worth the $10 or so bucks that you may find it for.
