Whoo Hoo! The one I'm seeing has DT as the closer.

QR needs a revolutionary new album like DT had with Metropolis 2. A revival if you will. I was looking at half.com at QR cd's and most went for around $7. Not bad for used. Q2K? $1.99. Sad.

Here some info on merch from a concertgoer:
"There were baseball caps and "wooly pulleys" w/ the majesty logo. i think there might have been key chains etc., but i didn't bother. there were only 2 women working the booth and there were tons of eager fans w/ cash in hand.

FW-wise, there was a baby doll and a t-shirt. some geometric logo. both black and both $30.

DT- a black tee, with summer dates and "what i did this summer" w/ majesty logo super imposed on the back. also a white tank top (can't remember if it was a "wife beater" or a baby doll) - these were both $30. - that was the cheap stuff

there was a long sleeve similar to the above black tee. i think it sported the "new" logo up front, which is a combination of the I&W "sacred heart", the FII infinity symbol, the majesty logo and the 6DOiT "hanging" girl. - this bad boy was $45.

now for the good (or bad, if you're broke) stuff. for all of you that missed out on the Metropolis 00 jersey, there is a '03 black-n-silver footbal jersey. the shirt is black with silver arm stripes. on the front is "DREAM THEATER" and a huge majesty logo. on the back: the number 03 and "escape from the studio" above it. - unfortunately this soam bitch was $50, and nowhere near the quality of the metropojersey. (but i bought one anyway)

even cooler, there was a "gas station"/ "bowling" type shirt. it's black with the new "combination" logo on the left chest, with "DREAM THEATER" on the back and "escape from the studio 2003" underneath it. it looks cool but unfortunately, the text is printed not embroidered (like my King's X "gas" shirt - which only cost me $25). this was also $50. (and yeah, i bought one of these too).

the "jersey" and "gas" shirts were only available in L,XL - or at least that's what the over worked merch women said.

there were a *****load of QR shirts. i don;t even know where to begin. but if you think the $50 DT shirts were expensive, QR had a kickass baseball jersey, for $105. no *****."

Granted, it's not as exciting, but Queensryche will be playing both Minneapolis and Milwaukee in Sept. (or early Oct.)

Let me rephrase that ...

OH HELL ****ING YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

Great show. Fates Warning went on at 8pm ... the show ended at 12:30am. FW wasn't bad and only played for 40-45 minutes. The rest was all Dream Theater and Queensryche. I was afraid we'd get short-changed with the two headliners, but they each gave full sets.

Our show was the same as Houston for QR, and DT
Spoiler:
dropped the Mind Beside Itself stuff, opened with Metropolis, Part I then Fatal Tragedy and hit Home later in the show. They also threw in Hollow Years, Misunderstood, and finished with Pull Me Under. It was a bit ballad-heavy, but that's cool. The encore was incredible.

So let me get this straight. According to dreamtheater.net the band went into the studio in early march to record a new cd. Since they are currently touring shouldn't the album be done? There hasn't been a mention of it. 3 months per album has been their norm lately, and that times it just right to the beginning of the tour. So what gives? Has James or Mike mentioned anything at the shows about it?

Dunno ... DT made no mention of anything at the show. QR briefly plugged their new album, but it was clearly a "hits" show all the way around.

Glad you enjoyed yourself das. Someone posted pics from your show here.

They are about 70% done with recording their parts. The tour is a nice break evidenced by the "escape from the studio" verbage on the merchandice. Instead of writing and then recording like 6DOIT, much of the material was written and demoed before going into the studio. (Yay!!) I think coming off this tour will give them a nice energy to evaluate the stuff, finish, and then mix. There will be a proper tour to support the album. Mike has said they were inspired by the two shows in which during the second set they covered a entire classic metal album of their youth in its entirety (Metallica, Iron Maiden) Whether that means more "Awake" sounding remains to be seen. What we do know is that it will not be a concept album, nor 2cds. It is also being recorded in a different studio (possible outside producer?) away from Bear Tracks where they recorded a majority of their albums.
