"Route 66" by Depeche Mode ??
I used to hear their version of the song all the time when they cut it in the late 1980's on the radio, but I could never find their version to buy. Not on any Depeche Mode album, not on any Maxi-Single, not on any compilation.
It's way better than "Behind The Wheel." What's the deal with "Route 66?" Anyone have any secrets?

Gilbert is correct as to where you can find it, the reprinted US maxi should still be in print. Here are the officially released versions of Route 66 from various formats:
Single Version
Beatmasters Remix (superb!)
Casualty Mix
Behind The Wheel / Route 66 (Megamix)
Behind The Wheel / Route 66 (Mega-Dub)
Behind The Wheel / Route 66 (Mega-Single Mix)
Route 66 / Behind The Wheel (Mega-Single Mix)
The last two are different tracks, btw. One is available on a domestic compilation cd. The other is strictly promo-only, unique to the US promo cd single.
Don't know if you wanted that much info, but there ya go!

While we are talking about depeche mode, I have a question, in the "objection:tengo" song by Shakira, there is a little guitar riff and vh1 mentioned in pop up video that it was originally a Depeche mode song, what song was it.
