He killed himself. He got a shotgun and killed himself. I recommend anyone not convinced of his psychotic fits to read the recently published "Journals".

I'm reading Heavier Than Heaven right now. If you haven't already read it it's a pretty good book.

This is a very well written book HOWEVER do not take the fact totally to heart. Courtney Love also helped on alot of the facts. i would read this as a book not as a biography

I watched a show a couple of years ago about a detective convinced Cobain was murdered. He brought up some very interesting points.

1. Why was the suicide letter wrote in two different handwritings.
2. Cobain pulling out of the Lalapolooza tour cost a lot of people a lot of money. Which happend to make some people mad.
3. With the amount of heroin that was in Cobain's system, even the most hardcore addicts would have a hard time functioning much less shooting themselves with a shot gun.

There were also things that pointed at Courtney Love being involved but this show was several years ago and I don't remember everything.

Also, if I remember correctly, there were no fingerprints on the bullets. Why would a person committing suicide take the time to wipe off the bullets?

I read a book or two about a possible conspiracy. A lot of what they bring up are very interesting points. However, until I hear something concrete I'll continue to belive that it was suicide.

I can't say for sure that it was a suicide, and I can't say for sure that it was murder - mainly because I wasn't there to see it.

Here's the scary thing: maybe someone scared Cobain into writing the note (blackmail?) and forced him to kill himself. Without Cobain's word on the subject, the world would naturally think: suicide.

To me, that's the scariest thing of all: having the world think one thing when the reality is wholly different, and you're dead and you can't change the public opinion.

That Francis Bean was a spitting image of her father at age 2 (?) - wonder how she's doing nowadays. They're keeping her very low-key, unlike Blanket Jackson.

I think it was suicide. I also think, regardless of whether he'd become famous or not, he probably would've eventually killed himself. Seemed like a very depressed person.

I honestly think Kurt Cobain did commit suicide. There were so many signs previous to his death that he was very unhappy. You could see it in just about every interview he was in, plus he attempted to kill himself with pills just about a month before he shot himself.

Thank you, Ralph Wiggum. You just made me inhale water and I cannot stop laughing/coughing/choking on water. I am suprised to see that here, but now pissed I did not think of it first.

I think it was the dogs, or bees, or dogs that have bees in their mouths and when they bark they.....i forget the rest of it.

Not for nothing, but if Kurt Cobain suffered from depression, and if he suffered from a stomach disorder (that was his excuse for taking heroin), he could have received treatment for those things. He was, after all, very rich, and he could have relocated to a brighter and cheerier atmosphere than SEATTLE, the most depressing place in America due to the bad and gloomy weather.

Suicide after making it as the most influencial rock star of the 90's WHILE ALIVE seems sooo lame that I really want to believe it was murder.

Nick Broomfield's Kurt & Courtney raises some interesting questions, but I believe he committed suicide.
