Good Surf Rock recommendations?

What is some good surf rock music in the vain of Lawndale and Agent Orange? Ya know, good melodic guitar stuff like Out of Limits by Agent Orange?

Speaking of Lawndale, does anyone know if their early work from the 80's is available on CD?

Also is Rick Lawndale band any good? Keep in mind I have not heard any of their albums, I have only heard some good tracks from an old skate video I saw called Ohio Skateout(which featured a couple tracks from Lawndale that turned me on)

I'm not familiar with this type of music but I do know that Dick Dale is the king of surf guitar (or so they say).

You might like Atomic 7. It features the man guy from Shadowly men from a Shadowly planet.

Well, following Chris' post, there's Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, though they insisted that they're not a [expletive deleted] surf band.

I haven't heard Atomic 7, but I'd steer clear of Phonocomb's full-length, which seemed almost entirely devoid of the energy that made Shadowy Men so appealing to me.

Check out Stevie Ray Vaughan's song entitled "Pipeline". That's a surf rock song if i ever heard one. It is on the release "The Real Deal: Greatest Hits 2".

modiman.
