Yeah, it was my understanding that the boys would be playing a ~ 2 hour set at the Zoo. Their schedule at most of the summer festivals seems to be in the ~ 2 hour and under range. Which brings me to... Anyone thinking of heading up to moe.down this year? That's where the big jams and long sets go down...
Well, it's not confirmed news (the DVD) but it's a start! :) Cincy was good, too short (duh) and the setlist was pretty average... They need to shelve I Wanna Be Sedated. Too much rotation for a "novelty" tune. Interesting... Another jam cruise... |
I know moe. isn't doing late night at Bonnaroo this year, but I thought they were getting 2 hours. I could easily be wrong though.

can't figure out how to link to it, but...
If you go to www.moerons.com then click on "Lounge", there is a thread halfway down the second page called Bonnaroo TN Schedule(Unofficial). This schedule lists moe. as 6:15-7:45 (90 min) in the arena on Sunday 6-15. Take it for what it's worth, not much. |
Well, now it's officially on the Bonnaroo website. moe. is 6:15-7:45. Opposite James Brown, Mix Master Mike, Toots and the Maytals, and the Superjam.
|
Quite an interesting lineup there...
No new summer dates posted yet. Figure they'll take most of the summer off minus the festivals? Maybe work up some new ideas? |
The 5/4 and 5/6 Monks On Ex shows are up at etree...

Great timing, I just posted the link over in Heat's Phish thread... BTW, he needs some shows, I'm sure youse guys can point the way... |
moe. opening 4 shows for DMB this summer.
Good for them. If I'm even close to being able to go support this show, I will. Any publicity is good publicity. Not to mention: HOT CHICKS!! |
Sweet news about the DMB shows. I'll be at Darien Lake on 6-20 for moe./DMB- and then at Vernon Downs for the Dead/moe. show the following week. Throw in Guster in Rochester on the 21st, and I'm looking forward to a pretty nice week of music coming up!
|
Well... Good for them I guess, but it should be the other way around... DMB should be opening for moe.
Seriously, it's good to get them out in front of a new crowd - ala the Robert Plant tour - but I just wonder how many of the DMB crowd will actually dig em'. ¿ I'm "in the area" for both Columbus gigs but there's no way in hell I'll be going... I hate-hate-hate-hate-hate DMB and wouldn't give em' a glass of ice water in hell, let alone the cost of admission. No offense Tommy... ;) |
I never understood why so many people hate DMB. Sure they are overplayed and overrated, but I still enjoy much of their older songs, and a few of their newer tunes. Anyhow, that is a different thread I guess . . .
But yeah, I am certainly more psyched to catch moe. than I am Dave Matthews. Hopefully moe's presence will improve the overall atmostphere of the show. |
Well, you hit on 1/2 of it... The atmosphere of a DMB show. Too many drunken frat boys and teen chicks. Not that there's anything wrong with teen chicks... ;)
Other than that, I personally find DMB's music to be excessively boring... But that's just me. And, the subject matter is fine for this thread as far as I'm concerned... |

New dates on the .org
11/5 Metropol Pittsburgh, PA *smiles* Finally, haven't seen 'em since Greensburg, 2001. |
Originally posted by Gdrlv That Greensburg show was actually my last moe. show as well...that's my hometown, and I was back in PA visiting my parents. Notoriously one of the least circulated shows up until now. Sound quality is EXCELLENT!! |

Thinking of catching the Columbus show... But, I think I'm leaning more towards driving to Indy for the 12/5 show at the Murat... Al & The Transamericans are opening, double dose of Al. Could do both.
Figured this thread was dead! |

Originally posted by MFRONE Worst venue in the world. Seriously, why anyone continues to play that place is beyond me. Metropol shut; sale imminent After years of rumors and a few false starts, Metropol managing partner Robin Fernandez has confirmed that the Strip District nightclub has closed, internal demolition is under way and its sale should be completed on Friday. Fernandez says the dance club and concert venue will reopen next month under new management that will "probably shy away from live music." While the new owners are expected to make their plans public after the sale is completed, upcoming Metropol concerts have been moved to Oakland's Club Laga. The list of concerts that have been moved includes Insane Clown Posse, Violent Femmes, Paul Oakenfold, The Machine, Keller Williams, Mars Volta and Danzig. No word on a rescheduling of the moe. show. :( Move it to Mr. Smalls or Greensburg!!! |
11/05/03 Mr Smalls, Pittsburgh, PA
Set I: Waiting For The Punchline, New York City, It, Tambourine, Rise> Recreational Chemistry Set II: 32 Things, Again and Again, Sensory Deprivation Bank, Four> Spine Of A Dog> Buster Encore: Low Pretty kick-ass show. I was standing against the stage RIGHT in front of Al for the whole show. Can't believe how small and intimate and awesome Mr. Smalls was. Best Rec Chem I've ever seen and a very unique Spine>Buster. Al absolutely shredded the shit out his Fender. My ears rang for longer after this show than any I can ever remember. I bought the Instant Live discs and I'm REALLY impressed with one, major, exception. They split Rec Chem up between disc one and disc two RIGHT during the jam! S.O.Bs! Other than that though, these SBD/OTS Matrix discs are amazing. Some of the best concert sound I've ever heard on disc. I will buy others from this tour.  |
Oh yeah, I set up a torrent last week with 19 thirty second or less video clips I took at the show with my digital camera. Also a few crappy still shots. I think the video clips turned out awesome even though they are short.
I can't link to the site the torrent is being hosted on but I can email the torrent file to anyone that is interested in seeing it. There aren't any seeds right now, but I can open my window at any time if anyone wants. |
Very cool man... Nice setlist. Good for you!
