Yeah, I've been thrashing this one out in my head. I know that I have almost a year to plan/save and that is more than enough time. It's all going to boil down to motivation.

There's been a flood of talk/ideas/comments about this on the L. and it keeps making it sound sweeter and sweeter.

Sweet!
I've heard recently that this is in fact NOT going to be a DVD recording. The place has the capabilities, but moe. isn't doing it, unofficially.

Then why play a little 500 seat venue that's set up for DVD recording? Al has mentioned that they are going to be working on a DVD... Ah well, strangeness. Did you land tickets for these gigs?

I can't find a source to link to, but I get the moe.List in my email (not sure if you subscribe, it's kind of like a forum like this, just through email) and there has been reports that at recent shows, the band members have denied that there will be a DVD recording. Of course, none of this is official, but that's just what I heard.

I guess we'll find out it a few weeks. No, I didn't get tickets.

Do yourself a favor if you already haven't and get this show:

http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-d...db.php?id=2629

Possibly the BEST audience recording I've ever heard and an
amazing show to boot.

If nothing else get Disc 2, Track 2, "Burning For You" Blue
Oyster Cult cover with Buck Dharma of BOC on guitar and
vocals. AWESOME cover! (followed immediately by a
30-minute Meat.)

Sorry for the lack of a reply...haven't been stopping by the forum as much lately. My folks came out right after the shows and just left today. The shows were excellent. Wonderful vibe...great people. The LV Jamband Society did an excellent job this year. There were probably 500 people there...if that. Plenty of dancing room but plenty of desert dust to go along with it. It didn't matter. moe. kicked ass...worth the 18 month wait to see these shows. First set first night was average, but second set first night and the entire second night were incredible. The energy before "32 Things" kicked in was amazing. People exploded when they broke into the tune. moe. on the West Coast is a magical thing to behold... The only thing that pisses me off a bit...these were my 11th and 12th moe. shows, and I still haven't heard my favorite song...give me a "Bullet" for God's sake!

For some reason, this thread sunk like a stone.

Bust - Already have it.

Gdrlv - Excellent. 12 shows and no bullet? Interesting... Damn_shame too, it's so jam friendly...

Youse dudes see the recent Monkeys On Ecstacy setlists? Sigh... Any chance you got up to the Cuse gig Bust? Chuck is plenty pissed about his wah-wah... Can't say that I blame him.

Unfortunately, with no car, it's hard for me to leave the metro area, so no, I didn't make it to see the monkeys. Had there been more notice, it would have been possible, but that defeats the purpose of the monkeys shows.

Yeah... Well, that's a pisser! Hopefully there will be a good quality recording of the Cuse show at least.

I'm catching the Jammin' show in Cincinnati this weekend... They only get one set - 90 minutes - but it's better than nothing. Haven't seen em' in about 6 or 7 months...

So hey, did we ever get a confirmation on those Pitt shows NOT being recorded for a DVD? There's some great stuff in there, it would make a nice one...

Karma Police and Yoshimi seem to be sliding into a semi-regular rotation...

Cut and pasted from different posts to the moe. L :

There was one camera mounted on a mobile arm to pan above the crowd, saw it tap a guy in the head the first night in the crowd, was kinda funny. There were also a few people stationed in the pit between the barrier and the stage and at some points people behind the stage. However, I'd envision plenty of frontal shots but not many shots of behind vin or jim. From my vantage point it seems as if Al will be featured most, or rather that he was at least shot most frequently. But I can't argue with it, he was the most animated and interesting to watch the whole weekend.

Forgot to mention that while I was sitting outside (for half of Yode, all of Reboob, and the encores) I heard a venue guy yacking on his cell phone. Dunno the specifics but it sounds as if the band was extremely "stoked" about the video so far, that they're going to send it to some one else for the post production work (as opposed to having Mr. Smalls do it apparently), and that it's looking like a Fall release.

That of course is all heresay, I generally don't like posting other private discussions but call it a caveat of talking on your cell phone in a public place.

Personally I'm a little leary that it'll see the light of day for the public but it's something to hope for.

Still sounds unconfirmed either way to me, but the fact that there were actually cameras recording is hopefully a good sign.

A moe. DVD would be very sweet. Wormwood is a great album and really captures moe. at their best. I can't wait to see them next month with MMW at Wolftrap. That should be an awesome show. Then I hope they get a late slot again the next weekend when I see them at Bonnaroo.

Can't find the link right now, but the Bonnaroo schedule has already been confirmed and moe. does NOT have the same late slot that they played last year. I'm 99% sure that they only have a 90 minute slot this year. There has been a LOT of discussion about it on the moe. email list.
