ska ska ska USA 2003...?

so, i have a question for those ska fans out there, what active ska bands do you know of (in the USA)?

here is my very brief list:
Chris Murray
The Slackers (and related bands - i.e. Dave Hillyard and the Rocksteady Seven)
The Toasters

also, what type of ska are they? i.e. punk-ska, 3rd Wave, Old School, etc... (who are they comparable to? and you can get obscure: the Elevators, 3 Minute Hero, The Adjusters, etc.; or obvious: Hepcat, the Toasters, the Specials, etc.)

this comes up because i'm resurging into ska. i haven't listened to my ska cds in awhile.. but i recently started again beginning with early Johnny Socko! and moving into the (quite) short-lived Slapstick (excellent punkska).. i just listened to Mephiskapheles and am currently listening to ND's own (and late) ska band 3 Minute Hero. so...

anyway, the question still stands: what active US ska bands do you know of?

i noticed that the toasters are playing at the Skappleton Festival in Appleton, WI in May. I'm happy to know that this festival is still going on!

(on the international scene, i am depressed to learn that Dr. Ring-Ding and the Senior Allstars have parted ways, and that Buster Bloodvessel [of Bad Manners] has passed away - not that it is too much of a surprise...)

.... maybe after you have tried all the current US bands recommended in this thread at your request, you'd consider checking out the defunct Brit band The Ruts?

Might as well just get the "Best of"....

Best of: something that I said

.... as they didn't release much before the lead singer OD'd and the follow-up band moved in a different direction.

Since I'm not a fan of ska, the only active ska bands I know about feature friends of mine:
First Grade Crush (ska-punk - have 2 albums on Jump Up! Records)
Corey Dixon and the Zvooks (traditional ska)
