Translator

Anyone else familiar with the 80's San Fran band Translator? They sit along w/ bands like Wire Train who sort of fit into that REM-rock-new wave sound.

I've been archiving vinyl to CD the past week. Mostly compilations of tunes that never made it to CD. When I got to my Translator albums I realized that they deserve a full CD just to theirselves. And that's NOT including the 17 songs on their best compilation CD ("Everywhere That We Were").

What a wonderful band. I can't believe how good some of these songs are that weren't included on their "hits" CD... songs like "Another American Night" "Fall Forever" "Tolling of the Bells".
The first time I heard their last album "Evening of the Harvest" in 1986 I thought it was too normal sounding. I wanted more goofiness or punk to my rock back then. But listening to this album today. Wow, what a GREAT recording.

If you've never heard of Translator before and you like good rockin' melodic rock, check 'em out.
