Favorite BLACK METAL CD ever

I was curious to see what some of you guys out there's favorite Black Metal CD of all time would be.
Although i favor alot of the Black Metal bands from Norway ,my favorite Black Metal band & CD would have to be GOATWHORE:The Eclipse of Ages into Black.
I cannot wait for the follow up that has a Feb 03 realease date.
Ive heard a couple of the songs live & they sound brutal.

Well most don't consider them black metal, but I would have to say Cradle of Filth's "Midian".

Well the only black metal I listen to is bands like Dimmu, and such. Although I have liked what I have heard from Borknagor.

There is also God Forbid and Candiria

Grunter you silly bear

I'll second the vote for goatwhore- jk4w, love them Celtic Frost influences-who I recently read is also working on a new album which is to be considered a follow up to Morbid Tales.

Let's just hope Goatwhore doesn't open up for GWAR next time around and instead headline that shiz. We're there dude.

The Night and the Fog compilation. It has some crap like Absurd, but it also has the most disturbing song I've ever heard by a band called Kristallnacht. The vocals actually sound like they're done by Donald Duck. Really extreme stuff, I'm serious.

Cyanide Breed ( http://www.cyanidebreed.net )

and

Sacristy ( http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Sacristy/ )

I'm not a fan of Black Metal, but I do own and love DISSECTION's "STORM OF THE LIGHT'S BANE". That CD rules so much.

zyklon: world of worms

i like it because it is a departure from the usual inverted cross and/or pentagrams you always see.

Are the recent Immortal albums considered black metal?

If so, my choice would be Immortal - Sons of Northern Darkness.

I seem some people bringing up Venom and Mercyful Fate.

Is there a difference between old-school black metal and the new school black metal?

To me, they're really sort of two different genres with different sets of origins and styles that happen to share the same name.

I never really associated Mercyful Fate with what's now usually referred to as "black metal", but lyric-wise they definitely fit.

Mercyful Fate was always put in the Black Metal Category, since there was no other besides Thrash and Glam.

Glad I got the remastered Melissa and Oath CDs.

If you have a chance pick up the Venom - Live in London DVD 1985.

MORBID ANGEL - Altar of Madness
UNLEASHED - Where No Life Dwells
VENOM - At War With Satan

And my favorite thrash would be:

DESTRUCTION - Eternal Devastation
KREATOR - Extreme Agression
