Make me a tiny mix tape!!!

If I asked you to make a tiny mix tape for me, what would you put on it? I know there are some diverse musical tastes on this forum, so I'm curious!

I don't hate rap music at all.

Thank you.

Since most of my CD collection is 80's "alternative" stuff, I'd make you a mixer of smaller, unknown bands that still sound good today. I used to make these tapes all the time for friends, but I lost interest somewhat back in '91 when it became a lot easier to find/hear alternative music.

Stuff like the Woodentops, Lucy Show, Rain Parade, Chameleons,
Hunters & Collectors, etc. If you really want a CD like this just email me!

Hey, I really like "Losering" ('tho it's by Whiskeytown, not Ryan Adams). "Where Were You (When They Built the Ladder to Heaven)" (or whatever it's called) is one of the worst songs I've ever heard though...

I don't think she's ever even heard the real song, but they did such a good job making Alan Jackson look like an opportunistic ass on South Park that I just had to include it.

Although I'm not a fan of Ryan Adams (or a lot of his Whiskeytown stuff), I can be convinced that quite a few songs on Stranger's Almanac were actually pretty good (Houses on the Hill, especially)... "Losering" isn't one of them.

"Losering" is my absolute least favorite song Whiskeytown has ever done. Ever.

Right now, I'm on this gigantic Mogwai kick. It wouldn't be tiny, but I'd put these songs:

1. Waltz for Aidan
2. Take Me Somewhere Nice
3. Christmas Steps
4. Yes! I Am a Long Way From Home
5. Like Herod
6. Mogwai Fear Satan

In that order, because it follows a pretty good progression from mellower to harder. Well, "Mogwai Fear Satan" isn't harder than "Like Herod" but it is perhaps the best Mogwai song ever.

Never been a big VAC fan, but a solid list. Good to see some industrial/electro tastes in this forum.

My list:

Angels & Agony - Forever [Assemblage 23 Mix]
Apoptygma Berzerk - Pikachu
Assemblage 23 - Lullaby
The Birthday Massacre - Horror Show
De/vision - Endlose Träume [Insomnia Mix]
Depeche Mode - Waiting For The Night [Sonic Integration]
Echo Image - Come Back
Hungry Lucy - Grave [Digger Mix]
Icon Of Coil - Access And Amplify
Informatik - A Matter Of Time
New Order - Crystal [Lee Coombs Remix]
Project Pitchfork - Sinus
Seabound - Hooked
VNV Nation - Airships

Ok, so that track listing is a bit longer than 80mins... but there you have it.
