In 1988, "Candle In The Wind" is recorded live and released as a single. The song peaked at #6.
In 1997, "Candle In The Wind" is re-recorded in tribute to Princess Diana, and becomes his longest-running #1 single at 14 weeks.

Before Elton John, all albums debuted on the chart at some position and had to climb to the summit. His 1975 album, "Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy," is the first-ever album to debut in the Number One position, where it stayed non-consectitively for 7 weeks.
To top himself, his next album also debuted in the Number One position. 1975's "Rock of the Westies" stayed at the top for three weeks.
