Well, Saturday I bought some music for the first time in a month or so. And that's what I have playing today (and probably for the whole of the week):

Bassholes - Long Way Blues/1996-1998
Tijuana Hercules - When the Moon Comes Up Wild
Candy Snatchers/Cheap Dates - Man's Ruin Split CD
Cheater Slicks - Don't Like You

the Tijuana Hercules disc being the only new release and the other three bought used.

and before those, I think I picked up a used Scooch Pooch Records compilation just for a Lord High Fixers song.

Sigur Ros - Agaetis Bryjun
The Josh Joplin Group - The Future that Was
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!
David Cross - Shut Up, You F***ing Baby!

These are also my last five purchases. Picked up all of these but GYBE and David Cross yesterday. Bought GYBE and DC last Thursday.

I need to add that the Blood Brothers album, which comes out in February, is so good it's disgusting. Some of the best/craziest hardcore I have ever heard. An absolutely amazing record.

Was listening to Audioslave before the ghetto portable cd player I was using was smashed to the car floor. I was attempting to listen to the new David Cross as well. I can't wait to get my truck back.

Last five purchases:

Pearl Jam - Riot Act (Great album)
Jimi Hendrix - Blue Wild Angel/ Live at the Isle of Wight (2 Disc)
Jimi Hendrix - Electricladyland
David Cross - Shut Up You ****ing Baby
Royskopp - Melody A.M.

George Winston - December
Run D.M.C. - Raising Hell
The Strokes - Is This It
They Might Be Giants - Mink Car
Wilco - A.M.
Whiskeytown - Faithless Street

Gosh, last five purchases... this is a guess, ignoring birthday gifts... a pretty good sign that I haven't bought a lot of CDs recently (lots of library borrowing, still trying to work my way through about 15-20 previously-purchased-but-unlistened-to CDs).

U2 - Greatest Hits, 1990-2000
Kelly Willis - Easy
... Trail of Dead - Source Tags & Codes (I don't know, that might be more than five CDs ago...)
uh, I think I picked up Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs and a Hawaiian slack key guitar album, but haven't listened to 'em yet.

Today's music consisted of:

Belle and Sebastian - The Boy With the Arab Strap
Spoon (mp3s)
Reindeer Section (mp3s)

Then, after spending 5 hours on a math paper (that's right, I said MATH paper) I got in a hip-hop mood and listened to mp3s of:

A Tribe Called Quest
Gang Starr
Jurassic 5

Beth Orton - "Central Reservation"
Wilco - "Summer Teeth"
Kasey Chambers - "Barricades & Brickwalls"
The Beach Boys - "Ultimate Christmas"

How's that for a mix!

I highly recommend upgrading Slanted & Enchanted to the "Redux" edition that just came out. 2 discs...48 songs, including an entire live show. It's as much early Pavement as you would ever need. Plus, I got it for around $16. The Slow Century DVD is pretty nifty as well...
