Need song recommendations
I want to put together a list of songs that I want played at my wedding reception. I want variety, fun, danceable, and I want clean music (that is no cussing (or radio edits), and "clean" subject matter.
I'm looking for stuff in many genres. I'll list some genres and some bands I like so you guys have an idea.
Big Band/Swing (Old & New)
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Cherry Poppin' Daddies
Squirrel Nut Zippers
(I don't know many older swing songs.. but I like it).
80s Pop/Flashback/New Wave
Men At Work
Bangels
The Cure
Depeche Mode
Go Go's
Modern English
The Clash
Rockabilly
Stray Cats
Two Tone Ska
Specials
Madness
Selector
English Beat
3rd Wave Ska
Hepcat
Slackers
Old School Rap
Run DMC
Beastie Boys
Grandmaster Flash
Newer Rap
Tribe Called Quest
De La Soul
Arrested Development
Calypso/Carribean
Harry Belefonte
"Iko Iko"
"Carolina"
Danceable Alternative/Pop
"Island in the Sun" Weezer
Country
I'm not a fan, but my fiancee is.
Novelty/Fun
They Might Be Giants (Particle Man)
Chicken Dance
Bunny Hop
Other genres too: punk, metal, rock, glam rock, pop, reggae, slow, surf, etc.
They key is -- something to dance to -- and something fun.
Thanks in advance
