MTV has announced that they won't be airing The Foo Fighters' new video for their song "Low" because of two controversial pieces. In the video, actor Jack Black and lead singer Dave Grohl dress up in women's clothes and dance around. The first objectionable part is when the two begin spanking each other. The second objectionable part sees Black and Grohl going horizontal and "intermingling with each other," i.e., implying sex. Because of the announcement, TFF says that they will release a DVD of the video on July 1. The DVD will contain "Low," plus three different video versions of "Times Like These." It will retail for $5.95.
Isn't this tame compared to the crap MTV usually broadcasts..?

Take Grohl out of Nirvana, and very little changes. For as talented as he was (and is), he had minimal involvement in the songwriting process. Drummers were expendable to Cobain--in addition to Grohl and Channing, he worked with several other drummers in his short musical career. Grohl just happened to be behind the kit during their time in the spotlight.

Nirvana made Grohl, not the other way around.
There was ONE nirvana song where clearly Dave was given room to do what he wanted. It was a B-Side called "Marigold" -- arguably the first Foo Fighters song because Kurt and Chris had nothing to do with the tune at all. It was the strength of this song that made me investigate the Foo Fighters at all.

Yeah, Dave's a talented guy, and Nirvana was a good springboard for his further career.

I liked the Dave Grohl song on Tony Iommi's solo album.
