New Nirvana!

I mentioned this in another thread,

but today, edge102 in Toronto debuted (north american debut) the NEW NIRVANA TRACK... YOU KNOW YOU"RE RIGHT...

and well... IT ROCKS... ROCKS HARD. This song is classic Nirvana sound with a hard rough edge... It makes me sad to hear it... there was still so much unexplored potential in that band... I'm eager to hear what everyone else thinks of the "new" track... I for one think it's great... I'm so psyched that Nirvana finally got this track released...

yo man, I felt the exact same way when I heard it. The song in the verses has an eerie feeling to it.......and its sad to know this is probably the last complete, polished Nirvana song we'll hear.

I smell another #1 song if it gets pushed properly.

I only heard the last minute or so of it on the way to work and was going "Is this Nirvana?" then I heard the chorus. Wow is all I can say.

Hey Matt,

I bet your radio station is going to be getting one of these cease and desist orders pretty soon:

http://www.1077theend.com/promotions...anddletter.htm

This station in Seattle is having an "I want my Nirvana" campaign in protest, collecting emails at [email protected] to forward to Geffen.

I still haven't heard the track yet, but any "new" Nirvana is something to look forward to. Hope I find it before Dec, when the Greatest Hits is supposed to be released

A very good song. Very good indeed.

Now if I can find it.....

Blah Blah, Blah Blah Blah.

These cease & desist letters are about as real as Britney's musical talent. It's a common label practice -- leak a song and then "pretend" that it's unauthorized. What confuses me though, is this track will garner enough attention since:

a) it's a "new" Nirvana track.
b) it was at the center of the feud between Court & the guys.
c) it's Nirvana.

I've never fully understood the appeal of Nirvana. I like some of their songs but i'm not a die hard fan. I plan on giving this a spin on my radio show tonite. We'll see what the public thinks.

There is no feud between Courtney and dave and kris, everything has been resolved. They are releasing some kind of compilation/greatest hits thing including this new "you know you're right" song sometime around christmas. The station here in Portland (101KUFO) has been playing it since yesterday afternoon every once in a while.

The AP reports that stations are getting the OK to play the track now-- it also links to a stream of the song at the website of Seattle's own 107.7 The End, http://www.1077theend.com

I love how every station in North America claims to have the "north american debut" of the track..

Wow, what a great song! It is hard listening to it though, thinking about what could have been...

I hope the rumored greatest hits CD does happen. I wouldn't mind a DVD release of 'Live Tonight Sold Out', Nirvana's Unplugged mtv performance, and their videos as well. **fingers crossed**

Which is one of the reasons I love watching Entertainment Tonight. First of all it's the "most watched entertainment program in the world", then they're chock full of stories that you'll "only hear here" or "an ET exclusive" or "first reported here".

I guess everybody's got a dick and they want to make sure everyone knows theirs is the biggest.

I Cant agree with CreatureX more

The song shows all the pontential of Kurdt.

I really hope they release the MTV Unplugged. Such a good concert.

If any of you havent read "Heavier than Heaven" , by Charles Cross, you really should. Such a good read. If your a fan, it kind of makes you sad: Seeing how he basically destroyed himself. For some reason he was just an unhappy man.

To quote Kurt he had "Suicide Genes"

I heard it on the radio & was surprised as well. Pretty good.

Now is that long in the works box set ever happening? I would love a complete collection with many rare-stuff

Though funny how some people can't seem to cope with the fact he's dead. I mean..i like most of their stuff, but i was never obsessed & looked up to Kurt as a God or anything. So i got over the fact he was dead pretty fast, sure i was sad..but hey i moved on & got over it.

Yet a few years later while in High School.A girl asks if she can listen to a cd,while doing her work..since we had a substitute & the computer could play cds. She puts on Unplugged in NY(great album/concert!) & some of the more poser students start complaining about the music being depressing...& someone mentions what happened & i said "Yeah he commited suicide"..& the girl gets so defensive like she was gonna pounce over the table after me says "NO he's not!"...i looked at her like umm ok & said "yes he is...he shot himself,it's been a few years..but he's dead!"...again she screams "NO NO NO HE ISN'T!!!"...& then is about to start crying and runs out of the room, teacher wondering whats up. I didn't mean to hurt her feelings, was just being honest...but man she couldn't handle the truth.
