song help needed...Norah Jones?

Mellow, jazzy tune with a nice easay beat to it that I hear at work. I think it's a current release but I can't find it on her album. Could it be someone else?

Rogue588 09-22-02 10:30 PM

Oh yeah! It's that song...with that beat...that has the piano...and the backup singers...;)

Seriously though, know any lyrics?

Brak55 09-22-02 11:02 PM

Well, if you're just hearing it a lot on the radio now, it's probably "Don't Know Why".

Decker 09-23-02 10:55 AM

Of course if it IS Don't Know Why, check track #1 on her album, it should be there.

Isn't Dont Know Why. More of a bass line. I can't hear the lyrics(I work at a casino, damn slot machines). Anyplace where there might be top 20 jazz singles list?

Just get this album. I was driving in my car when I heard her single for the first time and I went straight to Best Buy to buy it.

The Best

The entire album is killer. Took me forever to find out who did the song... I found it, bought the album and love it.

is it possible that J-Dubya's song is by Vanessa Carlton? I know she has some other mellow single out. Not really sure if you could call it jazzy though.

stingo 09-24-02 08:41 PM

deepdiscountcd's been trying to push that CD since I've been going there - for $9.77 shipped...

Nope, but thanks for the suggestion.

I don't see how she could even be close. Norah Jones has an amazingly soothing voice. Vanessa Carlton's voice is sharp and abrasive. Although the piano in her songs is nice, I cannot STAND her voice. UGH.

Gosh No

HELL NAW!!!! LOL.... Vanessa Carlton is annoying as hell, specially when ya hear it thrity three times in 6 hours on the radio.... Ya could listen to Norah Jones' entire CD four day's straight and only be slightly annoyed....

J-Dubya 10-01-02 05:22 PM

caught the chorus last night, I think it begins with

"and it hurts me to ..."

this is driving me crazy

J-Dubya 10-03-02 06:52 PM

Alright, it's Norah Jones after all. The version I hear in the casino sounds like a deeper bass rather the acoustic like that I checked on kazaa. I will be getting this CD for sure!
