What's up with the covers. Why put that crap on there when they could have put real Queen songs on there. Scratching my head dumbfounded.

Acutally, I've got most of these songs, either on my British greatest hits, or my American Classic Queen disc.

</small>I don't know if they had this in the States, but after Greatest Hits I and II they released a compilation of associated work as Queen+ Greatest Hits III.

I think this more or less comprises the third album of this boxed set. So the "covers" were not "instead of" but "as well"....

Yes they released that here. I think this is a great deal considering they retail for Gr. hits 1&2 retails for 29.97 & Vol. III retails for 17.97. The Platinum Collection retails for 29.98 and before some of you say it, I wouldn't buy that junk on Vol. III, they'd have to give it to me. Well basically that's what they are doing.

"Keep Yourself Alive", "Tie Your Mother Down" nor "Stone Cold Cray" were hits. "These Are the Days of Our Lives" is on volume 3.

and BigJim, while I appreciate you mentioning me with a credit, I would appreciate it more if you would kindly put your entire post into your own words instead of cut/pasting from my post in the similarly themed closed thread. Thanks.

Is it just me, or is there only one really good disk in that set?

I'm slightly tempted to pick it up for the low price, but I really like the filler as much as, or even more than, the hits for about their first 8 CDs/Albums. Especially on Queen, Queen II, and Sheer Heart Attack.

</small>A reminder to all:

Please use an existing thread if you have information concerning an already-announced new release: there is no pressing need for two threads having the same album cover pics and tracklistings. Duplicates will be closed when spotted, regardless of an element of new material. (And, yes, if someone wants to quote original non-contentious material from a closed thread, using the vB "quote" codes is probably a Good Thing and avoids "confusion" ).

Thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation.

Benedict

Question for those who might already own the Hollywood Records version of GHII.

Is Under Pressure edited on that too? I own the British import and for some reason they cut out on of the "This is our last dance"s at the end of the song. Not much to a casual listener, but it kills it for me.

Though, not as much as people asking me why they sampled Vanilla Ice...

I believe that edit reflects the single version of "Under Pressure" so naturally a hits album would use the single cut.

BigJim, thanks pardner.
