BoBS is a bit better when you consider the picture on the back.

The Beach Boys had some bad covers, especially in the 70's.

Here's a great page that reviews all of their covers-good and bad. Lots of info on design considerations, graphics, etc.

I HATE that cover! The album title is "Weathered", yet they are being CARVED into the tree! It makes no sense! Not to mention that I don't like the band at all.

sorry, this was probably just an old-fashioned thread-crap, but I had to get that off my chest.

Appropriate, then.

"Hotel California" (though not on that particular album) is the spookiest song I've ever heard. Especially taking into consideration certain interpretations of the lyrics.

Don't forget about the photo in the gatefold of "Hotel California" and the "mystery man" up on the balcony. The photographer swears that guy wasn't there when the picture was taken. Spooky stuff!

Lame title, lame album, lame "sequel" to Unforgiven, even the cover is a re-hash.
Did you know the cover art is actually a "photograph" (technically a painting) by Andres Serrano, and that the beautiful-looking liquid is actually piss and blood?

I heard they did a similar cover for the UK market, but used piss and vinegar.

Worst album cover ever would probably be the Scorpions original Virgin Killer cover featuring a completely nude 15 year old girl on the cover (who looks to be about 10). Some of the band members themselves have expressed regret over putting out that cover.

Their's a picture of it at the Scorpions site at http://www.the-scorpions.com but for obvious reasons I won't link it here.

Jeez, that Scorpions cover is sick. Never seen that one.

My opinion are of worst covers are just plain old covers that has the artist's face on it. How original is that?

Garth Brooks, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Phil Collins, etc. Just goes to show the major ego & unoriginality of some of these artists.

Think about this the next time you are in a music store. 95% of all country albums covers have just a picture or close-up of the artist (I use that term loosely) on them. Check it out. It is truly creepy.
