Question about online tickets
Springsteen tickets go on sale Saturday and I usually camp out the local Ticketmaster; but I am thinking about ordering them from their online site. And I was wondering what people's experiences with them have been? It's going be general admission standing only on the floor but we want the reserved tickets on the sides. I understand that when ordering online you can't pick your seats you just get "best available". How did this work out for any of you? Will my chances of getting good seats be better online or camping out? Did Ticketmaster screw up any of your orders etc? Thanks in advance for the advice!

when there are several types of seats available (ie: floor, seats, lawn, etc.) you can pick which ones you want from the group, or else best available at a certain price, or best available of all available tickets. i'm pretty sure all concerts are like this cause every single one i have ordered tickets from that had multiple areas to be at were set up this way when you purchase them. its pretty much how it works for buying a ticket to a sporting event since there are so many different areas to sit in. i cant speak for everyone but ive probably ordered tickets when they went on sale for well over 50 shows in the past few years and never had a problem getting the seats i wanted. as long as you make sure youre ordering them when they go on sale you should be ok. i've also never had an order messed up by ticketmaster.

Yup, bought me Springsteen tix online today

I think it's a great way to get concert tickets and it looks like they beefed up the server so it doesn't crash as often. I like opening a couple of windows at once so I get a choice of a couple of different seat locations and can pick the best. I do wonder why even though I logged on seconds after the tix go on sale, I'm looking at the begging of the club level, and 10-15 minutes later, they're still selling seats in the club level. What happened to those lower level tickets; you can't convince me that they all went in the first few seconds.
Anyway, for the Boss, I'd sit in the last row of the balcony and I'm glad I won't have to (at $75 a seat, no less). Bring it on!

I was completely shut out of Bruce tickets for Chicago...tried both online and through the phones. I won't turn this into an "I HATE TM!" rant...that's a given! However, I will take this opportunity to beg and grovel...if anyone has just ONE little extra Bruce ticket for Chicago PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE contact me asap! Thank you!

velveeta, sorry about that. You should try to make it on down to Indy. It's only 3 hrs away. I'm not sure if it's sold out yet, but even if it is, scalping is legal here. I swear when I saw him here in '99 there were hundreds of tickets for sale outside, including one guy who was looking to dump a couple of his tickets for $5 each!
edit: I just looked online and pulled up row 2 of the balcony level seats, and in a decent section to boot. Shame on Indy for not selling out, but good for you.
