I've been listening to a lot of Cradle of Filth and Opeth lately. I recommend:
Cradle Of Filth- A Gothic Romanance and From The Cradle To Enslave
Opeth- Harvest and Blackwater Park

technoish but not really, jazzy at times and smooth:
Telepopmusik - Genetic World is the album. "Smile","Breathe",
and "Love can damage your health" are great great songs.
Trip Hop-
Anything by DJ Shadow - Try "Fixed Income" from his latest.

Havalina: You can't really narrow Havalina down, except maybe to call it indie rock. Each album has a different theme and style, like jazz, roots music, even Russian music. Their fifth (and best) CD called Space Love and Bullfighting just came out. Unfortunately I think the first four are now out of print, but check out the new one if you find it, it's really worth it. Catchy hooks and organ-tinged indie rock with slight leanings toward Latin influences and sci-fi references.

Emmet Swimming - really great rock and roll out of Arlington. I've mentioned them here before, but if anyone's near D.C., they're playing a free show as part of the D.C. Sessions series this Saturday at 7:00. If you haven't heard them, check it out. I'm driving four hours from NYC to see them.
