Is anyone else looking forward to the new Iron Maiden disc?
Iron Maiden's Rock in Rio is being released in what looks to be a fantastic 2-disc set complete with DD 5.1 and DTS! Anyone else looking forward to this? I saw the rough-cut version of "Hallowed Be Thy Name" on the Classic Albums disc and was really impressed with the DD 5.1 sound. Can't wait to hear it in DTS.

This was a GREAT tour. Maiden was in top form - playing great, and showing TONS of energy. Hell, they show more energy on stage than most bands half their age.
To me, this DVD is a MUST-HAVE!

HELL YES!!!!!!
I was so pissed that it was getting held back again.
I bought the CD when it came out and it made me want to live DVD even more!
You can pre-order it from Bestbuy Iron Maiden: Rock In Rio DVD for $14.99
I almost bought the region2 because I was so impatient.
But think the wait will be worth it in the end

R2 was 4:3 and picture quality wasn't really great. Also, the way it was shot, annoyed me a bit. The camera moves too much around the band all the time.
Audio was superb, full bitrate DTS!

I'm pretty psyched about it. I thought the last album was a welcome return to their old sound and style. I almost bought the R2 version too, but will gladly pick up the R1 at that price. Now if they would only release Live After Death in 5.1...

Been waiting for this one for a long time now. Hopefully, it will be well worth the wait.
The audio on Raising Hell was horrible, so let's hope this one fares better for us Maiden fans!

Just a heads up . . . Live After Death is available from Brazil. There are a bunch of them on EBay for about 20 bucks. I have one on the way (23.90 incl shipping). Whenever it arrives I'll be glad to let any Maiden fans how it is. The seller's ad said:
"The Original DVD of "IRON MAIDEN - LIVE AFTER DEATH" (COMPATIBLE WITH ANY NTSC DVD PLAYER IN THE WORLD - NO REGIONAL CODING) - 90 minutes running time
- Interactive Menus
- Direct Access to the Songs
- Biography
- Photo Gallery
- Discography
- Audio Dolby 2.0 and 5.1
. . . I hope it is as good as it sounds. This was always one of my favorite shows.

LAD on DVD!!??
This I gotta see........and HAVE!!!
My LAD tape is really bad.
So the PAL version stunk huh.......?
Maybe it was a good idea I didnt get it
I know the reason for delay is all the content being re-worked because of flaws here and there,,,,so they say.
Me thinks Im going over to ebay and get me a LAD DVD

Also, the LAD dvds on EBay are from some DVD magazine published in Brazil. Every month this magazine is shrink wrapped with a different dvd, (sometimes music, sometimes not). Anyway, Not too long ago I got a copy of Ozzy's Speak of the Devil with one of these magazines. The mag did me no good at all because it's all in Spanish. (Search around, these sealed mags w/ dvds are on ebay). -- So ordering LAD without the magazine was no big deal to me. The packaging is kind of like some of the British mags I've seen at Media Play & Borders that have CDs wrapped or stuck on the covers. I own three of these "Brazilian" dvds and have been pretty much happy with the quality. But if bootleggers are publishing their own magazines and soliciting subscribers . . . just to move illegal dvds well . . . I don't think that's very likely.
LAD is a great concert, I'd hate to think that anyone would dismiss it without really checking into it first. This classic show deserves better than that.
Oh well . . . Cheers!!

Picked up "Rock In Rio" today. Sounds great and looks great. I had no problem with the direction. I really thought some of the camera work was done quite well. It really puts you on stage with the band in front of 250,000 screaming fans. -- Good buy for 14.99 at BB.
Related news: My "Live After Death" arrived from Brazil today. After a quick scan I didn't notice any delay or quality issues. I do feel that the picture was a touch grainy, but overall it was pretty watchable. Some fears have been posted about the legitimacy of this disc. I say put them aside, IMHO, I'm convinced this release is quite authentic.
~Cheers~
