Primus First 2 Albums Remasters - Anyone Own them?

I love Primus and when I read that the albums were going to be remastered my first thought was damn, now I have to rebuy the albums (and I'm usually not a sucker for these damn re-releases...don't even get me started on that). Well, the other night I was at Borders and noticed that they had Friizle Fry (the new one) on the listening station. I checked it out and couldn't really notice anything major. There was a more overall clarity but I would have to check it out on some real speakers and not crappy headphones. Suck on This is one of my favorite Primus albums (and I still don't own it!) and one thing I always noticed was how great it sounded for a live show. So should I get the new remastered version? Or should I hunt down a used copy? What's your opinion?

On a side note, does anyone think that the remasters can't compare to the original as that is exactly how it was intended to sound when it was produced? Kinda like how Spielberg re-edits ET because he always intended for a certain scene to be in but it couldn't be done at the time.

They have slightly better clarity than the originals, but nothing major. The extra tracks on Frizzle are nothing to get excited about. To Defy is just some kind of alt take of the real To defy and the last song, hello Skinny is pretty good. I just got them last night to replace my ones that were stollen. If I still had the originals, I wouldn't rebuy them though.

no prob, the only other reason to buy them I guess would be if you really like digipak cases hehe.
