The Clash Remasters - Worth the upgrade?

I know I'm about 2 years late on this, but are The Clash remasters worth the upgrade from the original CD releases? Opinions, please?

Oh yes, they are so worth it. Sandanista is wonderful! They all are. Get the Westway to the World dvd while you're at it!

west way to the world

I totally agree with you Mutley, Westway to the World is a great documentary. Joe Strummer shows himself to be a very intellegent man. I'm glad he is featured so much in this movie.

BTW I got it from deepdiscountdvd.com for 10.99

I didn't upgrade my Clash CD's. The only one I bought was the UK version of their first album, and that's enough. In my opinion, if you've already got the old ones, I wouldn't bother re-buying the new ones. No extra tracks? Bah! The old ones sound just fine.

Uhhh, Andalusia, have you listened to the remasters, other than the first one? I've got the old London Calling too, and I think the new one blows it away. Never had any of the other cds though, as I have had the vinyls forever, so I can't compare any of them.

The only remastered one I heard (besides the one I own) is Give 'Em Enough Rope, and I honestly couldn't tell the difference. For anyone who already has the entire Clash catalog, I just don't feel it's worth the upgrade. If ya don't own any Clash, then by all means get the remasters.

Of course, I also have the vinyls, and you really can't improve on that.

Listen to the remasters. I don't buy remasters very often at all either but these are worth every penny. The quaility is much higher than the old pressings. This is a fact. I did a complete A/B of new vs old and the differences are huge.

Well, if I do see the remasters for cheap, then I'll pick 'em up. It seems that everybody here loves the new ones, so they may be on to something. I love the Clash, so maybe it'll be worthwhile (though I absolutely hate having to buy albums I already own...).
