DeBarge...WAY underappreciated.
So today i'm listening to DeBarge's greatest hits...
Man this is a great disc. From beginning to end.
And it made me laugh to read about this supposed "controversy" of Ashanti sampling B.I.G.'s "One More Chance" remix for her debut single "Foolish" -- when in actuality it was a sample of a sample of a sample -- since DeBarge were responsible for the original [& IMO far superior] "Stay With Me". Yet people were commenting on the chance she took on sampling the song [referring to B.I.G.'s] like she was sampling the holiest of holy. And to make matters worse, she takes some of DeBarge's lyrics and sing them over the music!
Bah.
If you wanna hear some great R&B [both upbeat & smooth] go out and grab this greatest hits collection.
Standouts :
• Rhythm Of the Night : Everytime I hear this I always think of "the Last Dragon"
• I Like It.
• Share My World.

Not a major DeBarge fan but I do have the greatest hits. My favorite song is Who's Holding Donna Now. Favorite runner-ups are Time Will Reveal & All This Love.
And you have to love the song Who's Johnny by El DeBarge if you grew up in the 80's!

I really liked the Debarge songs even though I never bought any of their albums. El's voice was so extremely high but the songs were infectious and fun.
