guitar sheet music

i guess this is the right forum to post this. i've got a guitar but can't play a single lick. i'm thinking that if i buy some sheet music that i'll want to play the songs and actually learn the notes and stuff. are there any guitar players out there who know a good spot to buy music? counting crows are my favorite group so learning there music would be really cool to me. if anyone has any ideas to help me out i'd really appreciate it.

Most music stores like Wherehouse and Tower Records sell music books so try them out.

Here's a great Online Guitar link btw:

Some guitar sheet music often are just "fake-books", where they give you the general melody and chord progression of a song, but not a perfect note-for-note transcription. Also, stay away from tablature until you learn the basics of reading music and understand the symbols and time signatures.

I would recommend that you learn how to play the basics first before jumping into tabs and what not... Not going to matter if you have the music if you can't tune the thing, know some basic chords and scales, have a sense of timing, notation, etc. But that's just my opinion.

I use http://www.musicnotes.com for tab and sheet books. I checked and they have Counting Crows in stock.
