I'm impressed. Don't know what to say about this band but they're hot. I'm sure there are those that won't care for this music at all. I heard a song last night on a local radio station and started searching this morning. I have all songs off of their debut except pig. The review of these guys is a little harsh, but then again, my tastes far exceed those in the review culture. IMHO. Check'em out, I think they're one of the better metal/hardcore bands I've listened to in awhile.

Album Review

Seether's debut EP contains one song that is absolutely fantastic, and that song is called "Gasoline." The track is a plodding monster, utilizing Iron Maiden-esque harmonic guitars in a much slower and more desperate environment than that comparison would merit. The lyrics from singer/songwriter Shaun Morgan are a harsh attack on rail-thin models that stick to the brain quite easily, and the memorable chorus only adds to the heavy atmosphere. This song is important because absolutely nothing else on the EP is as good as that track. The Alice in Chains-meets-emo of "Driven Under" is as close as any other song comes, and despite a great chorus, it lacks any memorable verses to carry it. But the rest of the album mires down in the muck of generic alternative metal, delivering all the typical groans and moans that would be expected from a group such as this. This is a true shame, because the aforementioned tracks point to only better things from this band. If they can avoid the trap of recycling grunge clichés, they have a bright future in the genre. SEETHER: Biography

Seether is a trio of rock musicians that play a style of heavy metal mostly associated with the post-grunge era of alternative music, complete with depressing lyrics and a dark mood that accentuates their bleak sound. there are about 10 different covers for this CD. pretty unusual for a new and basically unknown band as far as national recognition

Definitely not hardcore. I was surprised at how much i did like this album.

I REALLY like this band, one of my favorite albums from 2002. It's got good diversity from mellow to harder stuff (not hardcore metal though....as stated earlier) It's an album i can listen to all the way through without skipping songs.....

Disclaimer was a great record... and now it's gotten even better.... Disclaimer 2 just came out... which is the original 12 tracks from Disclaimer, remastered (some are improvements...others are not) plus an additional 8 songs (including the version of Broken with Amy Lee)... definitely worth picking up if you're a fan..... I upgraded and am very happy with the purchase... hopefully a true follow up album isn't too far behind.

the song I heard on the radio sounds like the same grunge style "mumble mumble" type "Eddie Vedder" vocals that Staind, Audioslave, Puddle of Mudd and every other lame band on the radio these days have.

but then I like that stupid hair metal with the guitar solos, actual singing, good times and talent... so what do I know?

i saw them last summer. the only song i had heard of there's was broken, sans amy lee. so i was pretty suprised how hard they were. they never even played broken. they did cover nirvana's lost song, you know you're right.

since they are touring this summer with evanesance, there is almost a gaunrentee that "broken" from the punnisher soundtrack will be on there.

I heard there song "Fine Again" off Madden 2003 and was impressed, I heard a little of Broken w/ Lee and liked it. I might check them out in the future.

Im gonna go see them at Jones Beach in New York on July 22. They've been one of my favorite bands lately. I can listen to their CD and never have to skip a track. I hope they give a good show.

I saw them open for evanescence in december and they were really great...very solid live band... and yes, the lead singer certainly is trying to channel Kurt... they covered Rape Me when I saw them. Anyone who already owns disclaimer should check out Disclaimer 2... certainly glad I did.

I've met them and saw them perform 3 times. Great band.

I saw them at a local bar in Toledo last March. I had only heard Fine Again at that time, but tickets were 10 bucks so I decided to go. I was greatly surprised by them and immediately bought the CD. They were great live and I met Shaun Morgan very briefly.

They not groundbreaking or anything, but I think their album is very solid and a great listen.

I like them. Gasoline is the best song I've heard so far by them.

I haven't gone to see them yet, but they're here next week with Evanescence and Breaking Benjamin, so if i can squeeze some cash together it should be a good show to go to.
