New Tori Amos A Sorta Fairytale on net: opinions??

Hey all,

This song just hit the net and it's the first single from the new album due out October 15. Have you heard it yet? Opinions?

Just curious what everyone else thinks of it...

I know she left Atlantic. What label is she on now?

Epic Records.

I haven't heard the new single, but I LOVE the title of the new album "Scarlette's Walk". The title itself can mean so many things that it is sublime.

I heard this and don't like it all that much. Maybe repeat listens will help when the album comes out.

And I've had it on repeat for the last couple of days. Really good Tori and totally fitting my mood.

I've missed her

Is it good old "just a girl and her piano" Tori, or is it the "ultra-new dance/raved up edition" Tori? Cause if it's the later, I'll pass.

I heard it today and thought that it was jaw-dropping excellent. Not as stripped and raw sounding as most of Earthquakes (but I'll always be partial to that album) but much more so than Choirgirl...which I thought was very good anyway.

Heard it today with hotaru, as a big tori fan, she gave it her thumbs up approval. Very nice indeed.

yup, I enjoyed it, but I almost always enjoy everything she does (with the exception of a couple songs from the last album)

can't wait to hear the rest of the album
new tori always makes me happy

if anyone wants further updates- thedent.com is a very good site (just mentioning it in case there is anyone who doesn't know about it)

The version that has been leaked is the radio edit. The album version is a minute and a half longer.

also- this is what's on the promotional sampler:
Scarlet's Walk (Selections)
1. Amber Waves (3:38)
2. a sorta fairytale (5:34)
3. pancake (4:52)
4. Crazy (4:22)
5. taxi ride (4:02)
6. gold dust (5:48)

can't wait to hear them all

Just d/l the sampler...

Damn these songs sound good. The disc isn't out 'til October?? I don't know if I could wait that long...

A Sorta Fairytale is my favorite so far -- followed by Crazy & Taxi Ride.

ps - thanks for the link to the lyrics hotaru_san.

A sorta Fairytale is getting on air play here in los angeles on KROQ, been a while since I heard a tori song on the station that's not considered a "flash back"

the album comes out October 29. Sounds good to me. the other samplers have been leaked out already, I would recommand checking used cd stores that are decent to see if anyone sells there promo, as those things have happened plenty of times.

Aw crap, now I can't feel special that it's coming out on my birthday anymore. Why'd they have to push the date back?

Can't wait to get this disc. I was also hoping it'd come out before my bday (oct 19) though...

Oh yeah, the back of the sampler has an interesting little note on there...make sure to read it.

I think Epic is VERY smart to release this promo this early. There hasn't been this much buzz for a new Tori ablum since 1996's Boys for Pele. Heck, even radio is starting to play the promo - and I don't remember hearing Tori on the radio since 1998. So if Epic released this intentionally, I say kudos to their marketing team!

Yeah, the marketing is picking up. I heard sorta fairytale on Kroq a couple of times in the last two days. so they are getting air play down right.

I've heard all of the songs from the sampler and judging from that this could be a classic album. Maybe the best thing she's done since Little Earthquakes. Those songs were totally amazing. Tori fans are incredibly loyal, but I hope this album gets a lot of radio play and video time on VH1. I'd really like a whole new batch of people to hear her and forget about Britney Spears. Little Earthquakes is my favorite album of all time. These songs gave me the same kind of chills that I got the first time I heard Tori and saw her in Phoenix. Wow!

My favorite was Taxi Ride followed by A Sort of Fairytale and Amber Waves. But boy was it hard to judge them. They were all great!

I finally got a chance to listen to full length/album version of a sorta fairytale- wow, I love it it's amazing how much an additional minute and a different ending can change a song

New Tori Amos

Her new album "Scarlet's Walk" is due out Oct 29 and ToriAmos.com has a new design and a clip of the first single "a sorta fairytale". Sounds cool so far...anyone else excited about this one?
