Funny...I was watching VH1's One Hit Wonders special over the Holiday weekend and Dee-Lite made the Top 10 list with their song. I forgot what they said what the band is doing now.

From vh1.com
This multi-national trio shot into the UK and US Top 5 in August 1990 with the groundbreaking "Groove Is In The Heart", blending 70s disco with house beats in an outrageously funky mix.
The outfit was formed by Lady Miss Kier (b. Kier Kirby, Youngstown, Ohio, USA; vocals) and Super DJ Dmitry Brill (b. Kiev, Russia, his parents having defected from the East) after they met in a New York park in 1982. The pair, who later married, then added Korean-raised computer expert Jungle DJ Towa Towa (b. Towa Tei, Tokyo, Japan), who saw them perform in a nightclub in 1987 after moving to New York to study Graphic Design. His presence helped make them a truly cosmopolitan act (another early member, Booty, left the band prior to their major success). "Groove Is In The Heart" featured additional guest artists Bootsy Collins and Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest), though the follow-up, "Power Of Love", and subsequent efforts failed to replicate their debut's impact. Infinity Within saw a band toned down in sound as well as visual garb. It included tracks such as the half-minute "Vote, Baby, Vote", which served as an antidote to the aesthetics of the "Second Summer Of Love" to which "Groove Is In The Heart" had proved so pivotal. By the advent of their third and final album Kirby and Brill had been joined by new member On-e, while Towa left to work on a far more enjoyable solo career. Kirby also earned herself a niche market in computer graphics, designing covers for Deee-Lite and others, as a parallel career.

Lady Miss Keir was up for the role of Catwoman in Batman Returns wasn't she?
I loved this band and I hated that their followups where largelly ignored by the public.

Heh...one of my favorite groups. My band used to do "Groove Is In The Heart" and "Who Was That".
"Groove Is In The Heart" was always a huge crowd pleaser.
That Bootsy bass line on "Who Was That" is just so freakin' funky...damn! "Someone took a bath with Mister Bubble...middle name must be Trouble..."

Thankfully, I had the opportunity to see [& meet] Dee-Lite right before they split. I had Kier sign a flat for me. She was too sexy. A friend of mine that knows her said shortly after they split, she was working on a solo album but was too preoccupied with smoking herb.
