I was just browsing the messages over the last few days and noticed that nobody was talking about Michael Jackon's outburt over the record industry (not going to bother with a link - it's all over the news).

I think this just goes to show that nobody cares much about him anymore and he was a fad that has gone the way of tie-die shirts and 8-track tapes.

Personally, I think it's amusing when someone becomes a multi-millionaire thanks to an industry and then turns around and says that same industry is racist. These statements are usually the swan song for someone who see their popularity fading away.

I just read the article over at FoxNews where he says Tommy Mottola is the devil.

I stopped paying attention to MJ about 10 years ago. Anything he does since then hits a big blind spot of "who cares, he's just a freak anyway".

I saw him on FoxNews this morning. Now he's pulling Al Sharpton into his circus sideshow to denounce Sony.
Unfortunately for Jacko, his music lately has sucked. He's gone from being the Crown Prince of Pop to just another has-been musician in the musical milieu.

But Al Sharpton is distancing himself from Wacko Jacko. He said he knew Mottola for 20 years and has never seen or heard him do anything racist.

Michael Jackson has no career for two reasons. One, he does not work to cultivate an audience. He doesn't go on tour, at least, not in the US), he doesn't do personal appearances, interviews or anything, yet he tries to cultivate an image of the beloved and unstoppable pop superstar.

Also, Jackson has no career because most people believe he's a child molester. Is it a coincidence that the only MJ tours is in countries that have lax if not nonexistent child sex laws? What about the payoffs to silence the families who were suing him? These things form a picture in the public's eye that is hard to dislodge.

Guess he thought...hey...I can pull the race card and get free publicity. The guy is a child molester who bought off prosecution by paying off his victims. It really is a shame because I use to think highly of him years ago.

The guy has no credibility in my opinion. The situation reminds me of this old joke:

As for MJ, I don't understand what that white guy is whining about.

Yeah, he is living in a fantasy world. He blames the record company for the failure of his last album, not the fact that he is a noseless white woman, who lives with monkeys and probably molests little boys.

He looks seriously scary now. Aging combined with his bizarre surgeries aren't getting along very well.

I'm sorry, did someone require further more definitive proof that MJ has gone the way of the dodo?

What I like is that he blames his record label for the album's failure, saying they didn't spend enough money to promote it... but I've heard they spent $25 MILLION to promote his latest hackwork. Of course, in Michael Jackson dollars that may not be anything, but still -- public ain't gonna buy crap no matter how much money you spent on promoting it, so whose fault is that?

Hey, can you blame the record company? I'd like to get my hands on the Beatles song catalog myself. If Michael Jackson was stupid enough to sign over the Beatles catalog to the record company that's promoting his album, he deserves what's coming to him.

Funny, they seem to be scarfing up the Creed, Britney and NSYNC albums though, don't they?

All promotion cannot be bought, Michael. Get out there and make appearances, do interviews, etc. Ads in magazines do little, if anything for a population that already knows you have a new album out.

Michael acts as if he's sitting on a musical goldmine held back from the public by Sony for personal reasons. Please. His creativity evaporated long ago, evident by his retread into his past with his one video for the album (copy of Smooth Criminal) and television concert (complete rehash of the past). Don't take this wrong, MJ fans. I have always been interested in his new material, mainly for nostalgic purposes, and have "Invincible."

I am increasingly admiring Madonna, who is just about the only star of the 80's left that keeps moving on creatively and maintains an audience.

When "mommy dearest" isn't pilfering dance floors for the latest hot producer, she's repeating her "gee, what can I say to get a rise out of the groundlings" schtick (which generally entails her dressing in leather or bearing her sagging boobage).

Or maybe my loathing of this pop culture stain comes from being a gay man who was subjected to one too many spins of that "effing" "Frozen" remix.

You will see the bigwheel parked out in front of his house.

There must be talent there somewhere. Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, etc. also work with the hottest of producers and are constantly presenting sub-par material.

Madonna is daring in choosing Orbit, Mirwais, etc. What's hot now in Europe generally does not carry over to the states.

And let's face it, all music is derivative. Well, maybe not as derivative as P. Diddy.
