Today's CDs (6/11)

Bright Eyes -- Lifted or the Story Is In the Soil Keep Your Ear to the Ground
Bob Marley -- Catch a Fire (Jamaican version)
Arthur Alexander -- The Ultimate
Hot Snakes -- the new one, the name isn't on it
Country Teasers -- Satan Is Real Again
Oxes -- Oxxxes

So I'm heading to San Fran on vacation tomorrow. I'm going to stop by Mod Lang in Berkeley and Amoeba and Aquarius in SF. Anywhere else I should go (and it doesn't have to neccessarily be record-store related)?

Yancey: I'm actually heading to southern Cal tomorrow - LA/Lancaster area. So, if anyone has suggestions for these areas on stores to check out - I will gladly take them.

Boards of Canada - "Geogaddi"
Guided By Voices - "Isolation Drills"
Richard Hell - "Destiny Street"
Silkworm - "Italian Platinum"

I have no California suggestions. I too was supposed to head out there (San Diego, to be exact) right about now, but scrapped my plans because my friend who lives there will be in Illinois for the summer.

Continuing our longstanding confluence, Mike, I also have the Boards of Canada and Silkworm records with me today, but I doubt I will listen to them.

Do you actually like Destiny Street? I find it hard to listen to.

Not really - I enjoy a few tracks, but overall I think it's pretty lackluster. Thankfully it didn't cost me anyhing because I downloaded it from Emusic during a free trial subscription I had a few months ago. I have no desire to go out and buy a "real" copy of it. At least it doesn't have the abysmal sound quality of certain songs from "Time."
