Favorite Pet Shop Boys album?

Mine has to be Alternative

Also has anybody heard their new one called "Release"? How is it? I hear Johnny Marr is on several tracks.

New CD is okay. Like most of their albums, there are a few filler tracks...

however, "Very" is a solid recording from start to finish and easily my favorite. (I'm not counting their hits collection)

Another vote for their album Very, though their older track So Hard is my fave PSB song.

I love all of Very. It's one of those albums i have to listen to from beginning to end.

"Left To My Own Devices" is my favorite PSB song though.

Release is a good album, but the PSB's best album honor goes to Very. Not a bad track on it.

I vote for Introspective..I love the extended format of the songs here, especially the version of "I Want A Dog".

Terry

Release is great..consistently mellow really, with very few thumping tracks. One or two a bit stodgy, but I like it better than Nightlife or Bilingual.

I listened to very once but didn't really do anything for me...perhaps it deserves another spin.

Alternative is my favorite simply for Jack the lad, New LIfe, It must be obvious, We all feel better in the dark, and Too many people.

New Life is so melodic and catchy I can't believe no one else likes it. My favorite song by far.

I like Very because it's extremely melodic. And sounds less "clunky" than some of their other recordings. Check out the song "Liberation" off of Very. Gorgeous.

Without a doubt Alternative. But that's kind of a cheap pick because it's a compilation of b-sides.

For a regular album release, I feel that Very is their strongest to date.

As for "Being Boring" - it's definitely among their best tracks ever. But I still have to crown "We All Feel Better In The Dark" as the reigning champ in my fave dept.
