the good music video thread

Considering Mtv chooses not to play music video's anymore. one must question.. do bands still make videos for there new songs?

Also. what was a cool new music video you have seen or heard about?

Actually, MTv plays music video blocks in the morning when people are usually at school/work, and they air them late at night when everyone is sleeping. heh

I still think Peter Gabriel has some of the coolest videos of all time. Sledgehammer, Diggin in the Dirt, and Steam are all awesome videos. Another great one is Land of Confusion by Genesis.

Let Forever Be by The Chemical Bros has a bloody awesome video. The one with the girl waking up and running around the place, with all the camera effects and stuff. Check it out.

Almost any video by the Foo Fighters. But especially the video for Everlong. They are the most consistant band around, as far as both music AND video quality is concerened.

I would love a Foo Fighters video collection dvd.

I love the video for White Stripes' "Fell in Love w/ a Girl"...it's like a lego-mation. You have to see it to understand maybe.

I also like the new Moby video...any video featuring Corey Feldman (eww) licking his cellphone is all right by me

Linkin Park have some good videos. Sum 41 have a nice with from the spiderman soundtrack. Also Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice has a great video. And I loved Garbages last video too. The one where the band is invisible.

Well thought I would throw in this one.

Star Guitar by Chemical brothers. Amazing how the train's view is linked to the beat of the song. I love it.

Pulp - Bad Cover Version. I know MTV would never play it, but its a damn fun video with impersonators of Kurt Cobain, Robbie Williams, The Gallagher brothers, Missy Elliot etc.. all singing together. Very funny indeed. I also like The Chemical Brother's Video for 'The Test' and The Doves 'There Goes the Fear' but of course they would never be played on MTV (or at least I haven't saw them -- however Muchmusic plays them every once in a while.)

Everyone bow down to Ah-Ha's "Take On Me" video. A genuine music video classic.

Best "new" video:

Matthew Good Band - "Carmelina"

My favourite video of all-time:

Bjork - All Is Full Of Love

Best use of anime in a video:

KMFDM - "Juke Joint Jezebel" (with footage from Patlabor Movie I)

Matthew Sweet - "Girlfriend" (with footage from Space Adventure Cobra)
