What is the difference between Slim Shady and Eminem? I know his real name is Marshall, so that one is easy, but the other two are confusing. Are they supposed to be different "personalities" or something? The answer is probably something stupid like he couldn't decide on a stage name, so he went with two.

SLIM SHADY = character portrayed in some songs

Eminem is just his rapping name, slim shady is an alter ego he created that's all evil and bears chainsaws and stuff, i'm pretty sure.

As this is now asked & answered, and there are already ample Eminem threads, I'm now closing this one. Anyone with further questions, thoughts etc. on the guy please tack them on to an exisiting thread.
