Songs about "Goodbye"

A buddy is moving (back home) to the UK, and we are having a farewell party. What songs should I have playing in the background of a goodbye nature?

There's that one from Sound of Music...

Hello/Goodbye by the Beatles.

Never Can Say Goodbye - The Jackson 5

What else?

Any genre will do, even where the goodbye reference is a stretch, or overly corny...

Goodbye, Goodbye - Oingo Boingo

I think Night Ranger has a goodbye song also.

Tom Waits' Ruby's Arms is one of the saddest goodbye songs ever recorded.

Y2K, KrKuhl had a similar question and it had to be locked because it strayed off-topic. There may be some good answers there: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=199314

Just out of my "classic rock" and "misc" folders (you don't expect me to pour through 10,000+ mp3s, do you?):

Don McLean : American Pie
Led Zeppelin : Over the Hills and Far Away
Led Zeppelin : Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You
Led Zeppelin : Thank You
Led Zeppelin : Ramble On
Lynard Skynard : Tuesday's Gone
Lynard Skynard : Free Bird
Lynard Skynard : Sweet Home Alabama
Bob Seger (Metallica cover works too) : Turn the Page
Pink Floyd : Wish You Were Here
Van Morrisson : These Are the Days
The Beatles : Yesterday
The Beatles : With A Little Help from My Friends
The Beatles : The Long and Winding Road
Jim Croce : Time in a Bottle
Jim Croce : Photographs and Memories
Jimmy Buffett : Come Monday
Jimmy Buffett : Changes in Lattitudes
Motley Crue : Home Sweet Home
Ozzy Ozbourne : Mama, I'm Coming Home
Stevie Ray Vaughn : The Sky is Crying
Stone Temple Pilots : Interstate Love Song
The Corrs : Forgiven, not Forgotten (include the traditional intro)
The Eagles : Take it Easy
The Eagles : Already Gone
Tori Amos (cover) : Daniel

Granted not all these fit, but all have a certain sense of leaving or loss associated with them. Will make for a throughly depressing party though....

Here's some frm. one of my favorite CDs -- Sovory's self-titled, one & (unfortunately) only release {could be called 'acoustic soul'}:
* May Not Be
* Time
* Did You Mean What You Said

... and you can't go wrong w/ Stevie Ray Vaughan's Life By The Drop.

... or, seeing that he's 'bout to go back to Britain, the Sex Pistols' God Save The Queen.
