If you like ATCQ's later period sound, you may like Slum Village. Jay Dee from SV is part of the production team (along with Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed) that did the beats for their last couple of albums.

Of course, De La Soul are still kicking it.

The Low End Theory and Midnight Maurauders are two of the best albums of any genre, IMO.

Here's a few:

Mos Def
The Roots
Dead Prez
Jungle Brothers
Common

Not that they all sound the same, but it's the more "intellectual" type of hip hop.

I don't think they sound too similiar, but J5 are great, too. Check them out. They put out a good, positive, left coast vibe.

Speaking of which, you may want to give Black Eyed Peas a listen. A lot of their music uses live instrumentation.

Also, I love LA Symphony. Really laid back, positive stuff. Hopefully, their oft-postponed new album should drop soon.

I'd also like to plug my current favorite MC, J-Live. The guy is awesome. He just released a new disc (which I have yet to pick up). His The Best Part was an underground classic, bootlegged many times over the years before it was finally officially released earlier this year.

In addition to those already reccommended above...I'll say Slum Village and De La Soul.

And I think J5 can be compared to the tribe.
