Recommend rockabilly raveups
I'm a big fan of rockabilly music, but am wondering what gems I might have passed by. I'm not looking for 50's rockabilly because I think I have enough of that. I'm more interested in what has been recorded since the late 70's. I LOVE the fast stuff like "Black Slacks" by Robert Gordon and "Down the Line" by the Slickee Boys. I even like stuff like "Make That Move" by the Rockats (even though that is new wavish). Despite some thinking the Stray Cats were cartoonish, I always loved Brian Setzer's guitar playing... I have all the Cats I need. Looking for other stuff in this style.
Know any good, fast tunes?

Any Billy Childish stuff. Not straight rockabilly, more of an emphasis on rock, but I think it would be what you are looking for. His band, Thee Headcoats, would be where to start.
Also the Country Teasers you might like. Really sludgy country and rockabilly. Added bonus -- they're Scottish!

Thanks Yancey... not exactly what I was looking for, BUT it was cool to hear something I wasn't aware of. The Country Teasers stuff I just listened to reminded me of the Waco Brothers a bit
(politically charged country).
And the Billy Childish stuff....oh my! He has a HUGE catalogue of music. I have heard Thee Headcoats before. Cool 60's sounding stuff. I have also heard the Milkshakes, but didn't know this was B. Childish.
Thanks for the rec.

Thanks for the other recs. I'll check 'em out. Psychobilly isn't exactly what I'm looking for either, but I'll listen! I love the Cramps, but have that stuff (and Beasts of Bourbon, etc.).
I had forgotten about the artist Levi Dexter and that is the kind of stuff I'm seeking.

Restless
The Sharks
Francine

Some psychobilly-"lite":

But over all these bands, I would recommend the LONG TALL TEXANS!
