Well.. I've never been in one.. they don't have any near me, but judging by their online store, they definately cater to the punk crowd as well.

I read in Rolling Stone that someone commented about "I Love Rock and Roll" to Britney Spears and she said, "Oh, I love Pat Benatar". She likes punk rock? Funny.

It's really true that some early punk was extremely melodic. That's probably why I loved it so much. Ramones, Undertones, Clash all had extremely melodic songs. But the whole definition of punk is so subjective. I tend to view stuff like Jon Spencer Blues Explosion as being today's punk music. Just my thought!

I'll agree that the Strokes don't sound like the Ramones and I'll disagree that the Ramones were ONLY a 3 chord band. They fleshed out on a bunch of songs.
