DMB gets Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor

Joining Phish and the Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band has their own Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor now. One Sweet Whirled is caramel and coffee ice creams with marshmalow, caramel swirls, and coffee flavored fudge chips.

A portion of all sales go to DMB's Bama Works foundation.

I think it's great that they named it after one of DMB's lesser known songs (not "I Did It" or "Satellite").

That's really cool. I like Dave Matthews a lot (musically) and they seem to always be doing stuff for charity and foundations which is totally awesome.

I like that they make charitable contributions with this stuff, but hopefully next time they'll use a band that isn't a frat jam band.

I'm happy they're doing this, but I have a feeling I won't like the taste of the stuff.

Forget the band, this looks like the best B&J flavor since Phish Food.

I used to completely dislike this band, but I can't help being sceptical now.
Do you really think it was DMB's intentions to be a frat jam band? Not attacking, just posing a question.

This is pretty cool, at least they finally got a decent band to name ice cream after. Grateful Dead and Phish=

I still won't buy it though. $3+ for a pint of ice cream is ridiculous.

Penny Lane, I don't know what DMB's intentions were. I'm not trying to be mean... they just aren't my cup of tea (or scoop of ice cream). I think I'm allergic to bands that get on stage and meander with endless guitar solos (Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan exceptions). Just a personal preference. I know DMB has plenty of short poppy songs... still not my bag. BTW, I really like B&J ice cream!

I'm a huge DMB fan but hasn't the band milked enough money out of it's loyal fan base yet? Jesus christ, between $3 for a pint of ice cream and $50 for a ticket to a show and an enormous yearly fee to join their fan club you'd start to wonder if DMB was a band or a business.

bah. B&J's are corporate sellouts now. It's just a marketing gimmick.

I really don't like DMB (musically) its just not my thing. But considering that DMB does a lot for charity and that a portion is going to charity I'm glad to hear it.
