Did you even read my letter and digest it? I gave them praise for all their albums except for the last two.
I did read your letter and I disagreed with it.

Music critics are a dime a dozen.

Everything you said in your post has nothing to do with disagreeing with what I said -- it actually sounds like you're in agreement with the first line in my post by going on and on about how awesome JT, Achtung, and others were.

I do believe he included Pop in his praise. Which was their second to last album. I respected your opinion before, but not anymore. You're an elitist who thinks he knows best for everyone else.

Gimme a break dudeman! I disagree with DTSC's letter (because I don't like any U2), but you are being way too sensitive. He said he doesn't like their new albums. So what! How does that affect you? How is he being elitist? How is he telling you what to listen to?

I believe you are a *Bourgeoisie* throwing around "hip" and "current" catch words like elitist to haphazardly.

No, no, it's not that. I could care less what he has to say. Nazgul said outright that he disagreed, only to have DTSC say, "It sure sounds like you agree with my first line." I don't like that attitude.

I was too hard on DTSC. I apologize for that. But Nazgul stated his opinion, so he obviously disagrees with the letter.

1) I failed to notice he said "Pop" in his description -- my mistake there.

2) There's no "attitude" in my tone there. He said he disagreed and presented his side. After reading his argument of why he disagreed, it certainly sounded like he was providing an argument that agreed with the first line in my very first post. It wasn't so much an "attitude" as it was asking for clarification.

I said I liked all their stuff save the last two albums, and he ALSO praised their albums and even named them. To me, that sounds nothing like disagreement, no?

I'm the furthest from elitist that you'll ever see and am utterly insulted that you would jump to such a harsh generalization of me for no reason whatsoever.

There are bands I like and bands I do not like. I'm not telling you what you should listen to. I'm not telling you if your music tastes are inferior or not. I'm not telling you that if a certain band sucks then YOU suck. I stated my opinion about U2 and their works and all of a sudden I'm an elitist.

There's really only one response to that:

Guess you didn't read the part where I apologized. Oh well.

I do rate Pearl Jam a better live band, but since I haven't seen them live, U2 wins
If you haven't seen PJ, how can you rate them as the better live band?
