Is this a D.C. Talk song??

All I know is that it has words to the effect of "this is my way to freedom".

I can't seem to find it anywhere, though.
Thanks for your help!

DCTalk's "Between You And Me" from their album, Jesus Freak has these lyrics...

Just between you and me
I've got somethin' to say
I wanna get it straight
Before the sun goes down
Just between you and me
Confession needs to be made
Recompense is my way to freedom
Just between you and me
I've got somethin' to say

Great album though I'm not to fond of this particular song.

Strange...

The song I'm referring to was on the radio in 1996-1997, and I actually recorded from a Rick Dee's Weekly Top 40. Only problem is, I cannot remember anymore lyrics, and I don't have the tape any longer.

Is it possible there's another Christian band (not Jars of Clay) that could have had that song out?

I believe it was a trio with two white dudes and an African American dude....though I may be mistaken!

Thanks again.

DC Talk is "a trio with two white dudes and an African American dude". I think that song was out in the timeframe you are referring to. It was definitely mid to late 90s.

Great! Any idea WHAT song it was?
Are you referring to the song mentioned above?

It is probably the above song "Just Between You And Me" - that was their big top 40 hit and would have been on Rick Dees

YES, it's Just Between You And Me

two white guys, one black guy, Michael Tait (who sings most of this one)
I always thought it was Seal when it was on the radio.

Yes! The guy's voice does sound a lot like Seal. I remember having the same reaction.

I love this song. Someone mentioned that they like the other songs on "Jesus Freak" more, but this one does it for me bigtime.
