I've got a few MP3s from this band and was pretty impressed by most. There are tons of songs available to download but I think i want to go pick up a CD and listen to more that way. Can anyone recommend what's the best entry point for this band? Their latest CD?

Yes, go pick up their latest cd. Its the only one available in America anyway. There is one ep and the album. The album is one of my favorites of all time though. It takes some time to get into it, to let it all sink in, but once it does you'll never look back...

I would start with the ep then move on to the lp. I still have yet to buy Sigur Ros with Himmarson, Hilmar's "Angels of the Universe" which I haven't heard much about.

The last 4 tracks of their album are among the most gorgeous music these ears have ever heard.

And the other 6 tracks ain't too shabby, either.

Sigur Ros first album, 'Von' is pretty good as well---more instrumental, but still beautiful music.
