Help with mini-disc setup
Against my advice my son purchased a Sony MZ-R500 mini-disc player.
I cannot get Windows ME media player to recognize the device. The wonderful Sony documentation accuses Dell of sending a stripped down OS to save money.
I have upgraded the Media Player and I still cannot get the player to recognize the device for copying music.
Any thoughts or help?

Problem solved, unit returned.
From the minidisc.org bulletin board, there are many numbers of people with the same problem. Sony says that Dell, HP and Compaq do not ship the proper USB drivers with their machines. sony also does not know where to ge the drivers.
Dell has no idea what Sony is talking about, Microsoft had no updated drivers, there is no XP support from Sony available.
Bad idea, Sony. Way to support your format.
