Whatever you would call it, anyone know of other artists that are similar?
Edit: i think perhaps the term I'm looking for is "ambient". am I right?

If you like ambient check out Tetsu Inoue, "World Reciever" is one of his better projects. If you want something more moving check out Richie Hawtin "Closer to the Edit".
