Metallica jumped with Load in 1996 - the single Until It Sleeps was okay, but the rest of the album was unlistenable. They never recorded one bad song on their first five studio albums - until Load, the sixth one. Every album since Load has been equally bad.

Red Hot Chili Peppers jumped with Californication in 1999, despite the title track being just okay. Their follow-up, By The Way in 2002, was worse. 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magik was phenomenal!

Pearl Jam jumped with 1993's Vs, despite Daughter being mediocre. 1991's Ten had one great song after another.

Weezer jumped with 1996's Pinkerton - there's not one decent song in the whole set. Quite a disappointment after 1994's non-stop foot tapper Weezer.

I couldn't disagree more. "Pinkerton" is still Weezer's best album, IMO...it's a emo classic that spawned a thousand mopey bands in puke green sweaters and Buddy Holly glasses. It's one of the more underrated albums around, once again IMO.

Also, the "green album" and Maladroit can hardly be considered bad. In fact, they're both fairly fantastic.

Oasis - Standing on the Shoulders of Giants. The previous albums just were so much better. The rest of their albums have been crap. Of course, the change also coincided with Noel firing the rest of the band so maybe that had something to do with it.
