The Sarah appreciation thread
Since everyone posts tribute threads about models etc. I felt the need to start a appreciation thread of my own.
Praise the goddess known as Sarah Mclachlan!

Its a toss up between FTE and Surfacing. Im quite fond of Solace though. My favorite songs are Full of Grace, Possesion, and I have a soft spot for Building...Mystery cause thats one of the songs that got me hooked on her.
PS: I dont want the mods to move this so we have to be careful.

Yes, this needs to stay as an adoration thread or it will be moved.
*cough, cough*FTE for me*cough, cough*
As I have said in other threads:
1. There is nothing more sexy than talent, and this woman has boatloads of it.
2. Sarah has the sexiest lower lip on God's green earth.

of the potential to move this thread to Music
Talk, but, what the heck.
It is Fumbling. The perfect combo right down
to the awsome version of Posession piano
version as the ghost track. I am also found
of B-sides and Rarities (for her versions of
Gloomy Sunday and Gordon Lightfoot's On A
Winter's Night)
I have been fortunate to have seen her in
concert twice and, as stated in a previous
post, meet her once. Charming women, she
is. . .
What got you into her, I wonder, seeing how
she is not REALLY big in the US, not like she
is here, I don't believe?

Aw well, these ought to be moved if her music is going to be discussed.
BTW, I believe I just heard that she is having a baby.

I bought my own copy and the rest is history. I have all CDs and a bootleg. I also have the Lilith, Mirrorball and the Video Collection DVDs.

"Adia" is absolutely my favorite track.
I also love Ice Cream, I Will Remember You, Hold On and
"Black & White"
SURFACING is my fav album.
Mirrorball i love except for "Adia" because the picky bastard in me doesn't like a certain twinge in her voice when she sings it.
Whatever the name is of the electronic CD which i've been looking for to sell back cuz i think it sucks.
never understood her deal with that crap.
Which of her pre-Fumbling albums are the best?
Does anyone know if Pierre Marchand is working with her on the new album? I hope she goes in a new direction or produces the record herself.

If I had to pick one album of hers, I would also pick FTE just because of the material, and how you can see how far she had come from her 2 previous studio albums. It's like when you hear an artist finally get her own voice with the material, and is fully confident of her abilities, and everything just clicks. FTE is that album.
Surfacing is a nice album, don't get me wrong, I've practically wore out the grooves of bits in my CD of it, but it's just a little too well produced, while being a bit more accessible to the pop radio market.
Solace is a nice album, but Sarah's still not quite "there" yet in finding her voice, and it's a little dark on the last handful of songs before the happy last song on that album. But it does contain "The Path of Thorns" which has one of the best intro's of a song that I've heard in years.
I just picked up Touch, and you can see where she went with a lot of crooning, more than she needed to, and in the later years, she was able to finesse her vocals more. But as a first studio album effort, it definitely showed a lot of promise.
I'm bummed that there's no telling when we'll get another album from her due to her pregnancy, but I wish her all the luck with both projects.

When will Sarah release a new studio album? It's been since 97 and I'm suffering severe withdrawal. I need more Sarah! On a sidenote, I was listening to Surfacing in my car today and it hasn't aged much at all IMO.
