Re: What's your thoughts on AI generated actors?
I picked Maybe...Please Explain.
I think that we might see stars like Tom Cruise become okay with the idea of licensing out their image so you get an AI TC in a Mission Impossible: 27 film where he puts in some of the work (doing voiceovers) but what we ultimately get is a fully computer/AI generated version of TC that is doing all the running and other exhausting stuff in an action film. Where things get tricky is how much does Tom get paid out for allowing his image to be used in MI films long past the point in the real world where he just could no longer do the work if he had to actually be on-set.
Of course, TC could be reading this post and shaking his head and wanting to disown me as a fan no matter how many of his films I have seen and enjoyed, lol.
I also feel that unless AI is replacing a marquee star, the name that would get people to actually consider paying good money to see the film in a theater, Hollywood should stick to real actors in a role.
I know that I suspect I would quickly get used to seeing an action film starring Sylvester Stallone where he looks like he is 20-30 years younger on the screen than in real life. Put an AI younger Stallone in the next round of Expendables films (Expendables 11 starring a Stallone who in real life is 92 years old) and I bet plenty of folks who want to throw rotten tomatoes at me for not being completely down on Hollywood's use of AI would still buy a ticket if they are fan of the film franchise.
ETA:
I was tempted to delete this post but I keep thinking things over and decided to let it stand. Unfortunately, AI use by Hollywood is an unstoppable force and I just feel that steps should be taken to utilize AI as a valuable tool that a film's director can utilize.
I remember before the word AI was uttered on social media when folks wondered when film/computer technology would get to the point where we would see Hollywood use such special effects tools to replace an actor in a role, or at least replace their physical self while maybe utilizing their voice, and this was at least 10-20 years before Hollywood talent started to fear being replaced by AI, so the fear of technology replacing an actor has been around for most of my lifetime.

AI is already replacing actors who do voice-overs and narration and using different accents and vocal styles on all sorts of AI-generated "documentaries" on YouTube.

I mean acting is an artform, and at least for the moment AI is basically cribbing from existing data. I'm not aware of AI being able to actually act, so I'm assuming we're mostly talking about mimicking how actors look and not actually breathing life into a new role. That's why I was asking, if all you care about is seeing Harrison Ford's face on Han Solo and not actually Harrison Ford's performance, then I could see being excited for this. When it comes to actors like Arnold I guess the acting wasn't the biggest draw anyway so maybe the point is moot.
I did think when Alita came out that we'd see more of the "fake face on a real actor's body" kind of thing, but that's gotta suck for the actual actor being covered up.

Didn't we all go through this before.... Drawing, Pictures, Radio, TV, Cable, Streaming... AI is just the next obvious step. I think when it will matter the most... The majority of us wont be here. LOL

This doesn't even touch on the flaws in the AI writing on history, which usually pulls "facts" from Wikipedia in a very superficial and repetitive manner to form the entire basis of the program. After hearing a few, it was clear to me the actual human creators behind these documentaries were doing the absolute bare minimum while letting the AI write and produce the whole thing.

My Iphone can't type my name properly when I receive the text from a phone message so I am not worried.
